This one feels so much more solid than the plastic one I had. Steel prongs allow me to mark spaces on wood and metal very easily. The locking bolt on top is a great addition and helps both lock the caliper for marking, but also for prevention of accidental turning on by movement so it also saves battery life. The little so-called fine tuning roller is a bit crude, but it is something I learned to master with time. I am sure I could buy an extra professional caliper for 3-43 times the price and have it for life, but I feel that the return on my investment is more than reasonable.
