I am using these as energy-saving voltage reducers. There are two kinds of noise at the output: HF ringing from digital switching, and voltage ripple. I get rid of the ringing noise using a 8mm diameter ferrite ring with 3 turns of wire both plus and neg output wires. I get rid of voltage ripple with 78XX or LM317 linear regulators. The modules are rated 50 mV ripple, but my noise is much less than that - too low to measure on my O'scope. Basically I have a 26V 1Amp supply from a transformer, and from that I want to provide +Variable voltage, +12 Volts and +8 Volts at as much current as can supply, and for these supplies to be short-circuit protected. To do so I use 3 modules, 3 ferrite rings and 3 linear regulators. Success !!
