I was sceptical that the foam filter would capture particulates, and with my hand feeling the airflow, I wasn't sure it would be strong enough. I was wrong. WOW. The soldering fumes were sucked into the unit incredibly effectively, and the foam seemed to stop the majority the particles. I actually tested it with my PM2.5 meter. Without the fan on, it was spiking about 1200 ug/m3, with the fan on it was holding about 80ug/m3 which is incredibly effective. Definitely going to continue to use this, well worth it!
