The wiring is different from the esp7 used before. The wiring as following : CH_PD and RESET must be connected to 3V3. GPIO15 must be connected to GND. GPIO0 must be connected to GND. Tx/Rx to Rx/Tx of TTL-Serial module. GND to GND of TTL-Serial module. Importantly, power on the module just before hit the button to upload firmware. Done!!! Hope this help other guys.

I have used this with an arduino and using the library it works just fine to connect to my router. I have heard you can also reprogram the software to NodeMCU but i have not tried yet. Make sure you connect it to a 3.3V power supply not 5V and not the 3.3V pin on the arduino but a separate supply to avoid crashing the usb-to-serial chip when the module is using power.
