perfect functioning green laser diodes without collimator. does not produce a line, it is the naked diode with some kind of monitoring . It works above about 4 V. current below lasing gives another color than in lasing mode which starts emediately above threshold. Do not exede 140mA , use a host with collimator . In a few seconds testing it dit not became hot or even warm. The light output was- however surprisingly brite. Has the usual different X/Y divergence most power LD have. minus ( left wire) and the one near it have to be connected. the plus single , correct voltage, current and cooling, collimator, it is not difficult. Because it is class 3B , not suitable for making laserpointer. powerful enough for star pointers!
great little diode in direct green 510to520nm territory! zee comparison to classic 532 in shots
I measured 45mW at 120mA, more than claimed. Very performant item for a low price. But it heats up without additional cooling. That's no problem with the device, it is normal. And it needs to be collimated, like every blank diode laser. I ordered three more, hope they arrive soon.
The diode fits in a TO18 (5.6 mm) compatible housing to collimate the beam and can be powered with a simple lm317 linear regulator. I am using mine set at about 100-110 mA and the beam is nice and strong. Be very careful as you assemble your project as the diode is a very electrostatic sensitive device and can be damaged very easy. Never connect the diode to the regulator while the regulator is powered on as the inrush current will fry it. If you are using a switch, never connect it between the diode and the regulator, always connect it between the regulator and the power supply. Also, if you are planning to use the setup for long periods of time, I suggest using heat sinks on both the diode module and the lm317 regulator.
seems okay, not tested yet, fast shipping only 18 days
