It works continuously from dusk till dawn. Has also a mode memory that remembers the last mode used. The wire parts of the string lights are well sealed (IP65) while the battery case and solar panel are IP44 rated, meaning that these solar LED tube lights can meet normal use outside in the rain, snow and under high weather temperatures. So, the total length is 7m. Even at a high distance of 45m/147.6ft the solar-powered tube LEDs have an impressive light output. I didn't notice flickering or other issues. My only complain is that the set came in a durable bag without any additional protection. However everything was in place and undamaged. After testing them in continuous rainfall and cold conditions, I can say that these tube LED lights despite their low price offer long lasting performance, decent brightness and are a great replacement for incandescent decoration lights.
