For those who have used the UV5R cable the prolific driver is a pain. This product uses the serial driver. Testing well I used a Baofeng BF-X3plus. There are only two cables that work to my knowledge with that radio and this one has fittings for all other Baofeng radios unlike the kenwood cable the only other option for the BF-X3plus. Another issue with the BF-X3plus is there is no official software at this moment in time. The only thing that works is chirp and the UV82111 software which is experimental. You need a recommendation to consider this cable? I have not tested every configuration because its a hobby for me. But chirp works with every Baofeng and clones. I do not know for sure all answers. But I do know not all UV5R radios do not have the same hardware so you can't directly port the content from one to another. what you can do with chirp is cut copy paste data with all supported radios so this cable has to be a try at the price.
