As things go it looks pretty good. The packing could be a bit better as the acrylic sheet of the plastic case cut through the polythene bag but luckily it was not damaged. I checked the parts and they all seem to be present. There are spare Led's about 20 and spare (0603 capacitors 104) about 25 which is good as they are prone to flying when picked up with tweezers. I found blunt rounded end tweezers best for the job. There are also spare 0805 resistors and capacitors, about 1 of each type. The only components you can get wrong are the Diode and Microphone, they are directional for the Diode and +/- for the Microphone. The Electrolytic Capacitors are Surface Mount so you can't really get them wrong. Just toying with the idea of making a little test unit to test the Led's on before soldering them on? Obviously not started assembly yet as it only just arrived but it is always a good precaution to check the parts on delivery for shortages and damage. Hopefully I can edit this in the future after assembly.

Very nice as a clock (the other 2 functions are not that appealing to me) The kit has everything you need accept solder and the tools needed (soldering iron, tweezers) and I would really recommend using loads of no-clean flux to aid soldering. I soldered everything with a conventional soldering iron. I made a video of the build process, 1st episode is here :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDvLGyX-Dt0 Not a beginner project, there's a LOT of very small SMD components. The IC's should've been packed better, they had no protection and had some of their pins bent & twisted, thankfully they straightened out ok. When assembled I found some LEDs hadn't been soldered correctly which caused half of the display to violently flash, but once the poor solder joints were reflowed that cured the problem. The supplied case is very fragile and some of the laser-cut slots are too tight to fit without filing/sanding. You need to be really careful as they will crack and split very easily (one arrived cracked)
