This device creates a constant current by using a voltage regulator in current feedback mode. The potmeter is a wirewound type and conducts the complete current. The 3.7v ! battery is for the numeric readout. It would have been nice if that was mentioned in the text, the I would have bought that one also. I was expecting a 1.5V AA. Buy a 3.7 V instead.
