I can thoroughly recommend these tiny little buck regulators, they have the highest input voltage I can find, this one is the second I've purchased because they are so good. I use them for powering the Voltmeter/Ammeter product, at that has a max input of 30V to power it, but can measure up to 100V, so I use this buck regulator to power the Voltmeter in my power supplies.

8V input is deceiving. Losing voltage at around 11V. I bought it to go that low, now it is no better than a 7809 chip. Apart from that it seems to work well.
