The package I received, and its contents, were insufficiently padded for shipping. There was some very minor damage as the one motor mounting tab was broken. I glued it and had no problem, The IC pins were all bent over, and the corner tip of the stand base was broken but hardly noticeable. Assembly of the Ferris wheel kit was quite a frustrating challenge for me, as all the soldering connections were extremely close, and the holes were tiny. Component ID was easy but the 10 uf capacitor and transistor are best mounted lying on their side rather than upright, and the 4 pin terminal I was unsure which side of the PCB it went, so I bent the pins over not sure what that is for perhaps the upgrade. I accidentally got solder on one of the foil circles leaving a slight rough spot so that when the wheel rotates it would snag and if turning clockwise, the motor still turned and the center screw would come loose. A lock washer helps I added that, but I also reversed the polarity of the motor to turn counterclockwise so that if the wheel snagged, the motor turns against the screw and keeps the wheel tight. My Ferris wheel works as designed and now rotates smooth. The kit comes with a few extra LEDs, resistors, and a capacitor, but I wish extra brass POGO pins were included because one of them snapped off, and I had to improvise with a poor substitute. If Banggood was so kind as to tell me where I can order the replacement pins or provide them as spare parts. I searched eBay but could not find the proper size pins. The DIY Ferris Wheel produces quite a colorful light show and was worth the trouble. There are no instructions, but the parts chart and pictures are helpful enough.
