I have just received my custom bar and I'm delighted with it. I started off speaking to customer service about what was possible, they were very responsive and we ironed out the detail. The old one as you can see had no wings, so when I folded my table saw stand, the gauge hung out as it was only the front washer holding it in (I have new Evolution table saw and a Bosch folding table). I supplied the measurements I wanted and placed my order. I got the new one and it was perfect, and now remains firmly in place when the table folds. The only thing I didn't like about the original gauge (which is amazing) was that it did not lock to my sliding table like the stock one. Imagine my delight when I saw the new bar is upgraded with a locking screw at the end so I can use the sliding table - smashing! Instructions for installation (see picture where I've indicated the screws): 1. Unscrew the silver handle, place to one side 2. Turn over and unscrew screw marked 1, keep. 3. Remove the black handle magnifying part. Becareful because it has a toothed rod with a spring and they could fall out if you drop it or hold it the wrong way. Handle took some wiggling to get out. 4. Unscrew screw marked 2, keep. (No need to unscrew the large allen key screw marked with an X, you will note the replacement has this part as well). 5. Remove bar and replace new one going in reverse order, magnifying handle last. The tolerances are tight and you may need to persuade the magnifying handle back on. I had to use my "persuader" resin hammer to get it flush. 5. Screw back the silver handle and install the locking screw in the rear (comes with the kit and is probably only necessary if you have a sliding table). 6. Enjoy!
Excellent quality just like the one that came with the miter gauge. I had this made for the Hercules HE77 table saw from Harbor Freight. I had purchased the miter gauge with the DeWalt slider as the Hercules is very similar. However, the slider sat just a little proud of the work surface so I had this custom one made with the following dimensions: A: 19.2mm B: 5.6mm C: 3mm D: 22.2mm E: 450mm It has the number 6354 stamped on the place where the DeWalt one had DW stamped. After tightening the expansion washers there is no side to side play and it slides smoothly in the track while sitting just below the work surface.
