It heat quickly and works quite well. It is much cheaper than others brands and a great bang for the bucks. Cons: you'll need extra tips for bigger components, and there is no switch nor power indicator on the unit. I added a water boiler light bulb on mine, gotta add a lamp inline switch next. Still, I am very satisfied for the price.

So far this is working very well. It has taken everything that I've thrown at it. Items that were very difficult or impossible to desolder before are handled easily by this solder sucker. Through hole IC's with many leads were nearly impossible to unsolder with conventional desoldering wick or spring loaded solder suckers. Usually the IC would be damaged or the PCB or both. But this solder sucker desoldering iron works like a charm. The IC's simply drop off the board. I also purchased some larger tips (1.5mm and 2mm). They work well too. I've used them to remove large size through hole components. Transformers, large electrolytic capacitors, high watt resistors all come off the board without any problem. It is important to frequently clean out the solder from the reservoir and the heated element frequently or it is liable to plug up and stop working properly. Other than that, it's a piece of cake to use. I'v very happy with my purchase.
