Got it up and running very quickly. Output distance values are in millimetres directly from the Serial (UART) and I2C ports so no calculations are needed. Very small and lightweight which makes it easy to mount onto a servo motor for robotic control. It has a narrower beam width detection pattern as compared to an Ultrasonic distance detector. Check out 0033mer YT channel for pinouts and setup.
Great little device. Spend some time translating the pdf and you will be rewarded. The UART connection permits setting different settings; the I2C interface does not seem to permit changing settings. For a quick start the UART messages are as follows r1# Return D= calibration value r2# Return T= mS between data sending r3# Return M=0 flitered data, M=1 Raw data r4# Return MaxX= maximum distance mm r5# Return S=0 repeat tx of data, S=1 passive tx of data r6# Return L= passive read of data, distance mm r7# Return I= I2C slave ID s1-xx# set Devition value -ve s1+xx# set Devition value +ve s2-xxxx# set Serial port sending interval mS s3-x# set 0 Filtered distance data; 1 Raw distance data s4-xxxx# set maximum distance s5-x# set data sending method 0 - repetative (UART only) 1 - on request (UART or I2C) s7-xxx# set slave ID (denary) When values are set they persist over power downs.
Looks great. The PCBs are well made. All appears to be of good quality. Each one comes in a little clam shell case which is nice. Also has a few screws to help mount it. All in all great product. Have not tested yet but seeing the quality I have no doubt they will work as expected.
