Many of my micro-controller projects involve polling sensors and sending results every 15 minutes or so to a central point over a wireless link, They spend most of their time in deep sleep and are scattered around my property. I like to keep the operation autonomous so each has a small solar panel, a custom charge-controller and battery storage in an 18650, 16340, or sometimes even a lir2032. These panels do a good job of keeping the batteries topped up (even when not in full sun) and I am happy to recommend them.
