The motors look great, magnets are curved with very little air gap, it has nice and strong cogging, and the axle is 3mm (why would anyone live with less?). The axle looks like Al, not Ti, so there might be some Ti in it, but it isn't Ti. Bearings are unlabeled, hope they really come from Japan. But it's still a Chinese machine-wound motor. Compare it to a German hand-wound 1805 motor of >10 years ago (second photo) and you'll see the difference in how much copper vs. air there is in the stator! Yes, it costs more (the German one is still being sold for 4x the price of the R4, and its axle is real Ti). I bet that you can rewind these to get a much better motor just by filling the space available. And the kv drops too if you use the same wire gauge, which would also be welcome.
