wanted to switch from wet sponge to one of these for quite some time. finally ordered one and used it for the first time. i am disappointed. the brass sponge doesn't seem to be quality or the correct material. my tip comes out of the cleaner with brass caked all over it and with strands pulling out of the holder stuck to my iron. i did not let the tip linger in the sponge. i felt uncomfortable cleaning my iron with this due to the brass coating caking the iron tip afterwards. i did not want my tip to corrode after i packed up my iron so i went back to my old methods. will look for another, higher quality sponge, perhaps?
