I use this for a mandolin when I need to amplify it. It attaches to the F sound hole without adhesive that might damage the surface. It sounds clear with no hum.

Nice product. If you have some kind of guitar effect your violin can sound like David Garretts violin!

Careful placement and experimentation is needed to get the best sound, but works very well.
