I purchased the kit version of this plane and installed my own motor, esc and servos. The motor I used was a surpass hobby 3548 900kv motor I bought here at Banggood. I used a 12x6 2 bladed prop and a 60 amp esc that I also purchased here. I also set the plane up to run a 2200 4S battery, but to use this I had to cut out the floor of the battery compartment and glue in some wood pieces across the bottom of the plane to hold the battery in. This was necessary because the battery was a little too thick. If you stick with a 3 cell it will be fine as is. I used just standard 9 gram servos for the ailerons and elevator and rudder. Very straightforward build, no problems. I did lay a couple of carbon fiber strips across the 2 halves of the wing joint and glued them in for extra strength. The plane is very light for its size and has ridiculous power with this motor. You can take off and immediately rotate into a vertical climb and climb away. Of course its not scale. What fun is scale? It flies excellent and is very easy to land. I did not cut in flaps but you easily could. It really doesn't need them. You could also program flaperons if you wanted to. Super great for the price. Only semi bad thing is the cowl doesn't match the color of the plane at all, but not a big deal. Have fun!
