I have been having fun recently, playing around with the STM8 and evaluating it as an alternative to the ATMEGA328P. Coming up with an effective software tool-chain is a bit of a faff, but the chip itself seems OK. In my opinion, it is almost as good as the 328P and probably better than the ATTINY micro-controllers. I'll probably consider it for projects where my current first choice would be an ATTINY88.

Perfect for small projects and prototypes. Very well built. The product looks exactly as the pictures. On the bottom side there's a sot-23 voltage regulator.
