I did not buy this to use with a dash-cam, but rather for my own use. The connector was not as pictured, but I didn't care since I cut it right off and stripped the wires for direct connection. I powered the receiver from a 3.3 volt power supply on the red and black wires, and got 9600 bps NMEA serial on the yellow wire. Perfect!

These little receivers work really well, and I'd love to give them a 5 star rating, but there are issues. On the good side, I've bought around 30 of them from Banggood and all 30 function properly. I use them at higher than normal communication speed, 115000 baud, and at the maximum position fix rate of 10hz (100ms). I power them with 3.3 volts and communicate directly to a PIC24 microcontroller. So, the bad side is quality control. Some units have the antenna mounted crooked, which does not seem to affect performance but can make it had to fit the part into a system mechanically. The bigger problem occured on the most recent batch I've just received: THE WIRING IS INCORRECT! Each GPS unit includes a connector with colored wires preattached. This is great, and until the latest delivery they were correctly colored as per the data sheets. (ie: Red is Vcc, Black is Ground, etc.) The latest batch has the connections all mixed up at the plug, and this causes the GPS to malfunction when wired per the data sheet. Once I saw the problem and reworked the color codes, everything worked fine, but there was a big potential for burning out the receiver. Also, it wasted a huge amount of my time going back and re-wiring 10 of my finished product so the GPS would work. This is a bad quality control issue and is the main cause of my downgraded review. I've included a picture of the correct wiring next to what I've received. If you buy this product, be very careful checking the colors and connections to be sure they don't differ from the instructions.

Excellent LEDs. Visible easily in bright sunlight, even when running at half current. I had to experiment with the drive current to get even lighting, and pure mixed colors, but it's easy to obtain good results.

There were no wiring diagrams included, and the pins aren't even numbered, but a little research found the answers. Once hooked up, the GPS locked on in under a minute and seems accurate. The TTL data stream is 9600 bps, as advertised. Good product for the experimenter.

As advertised, they operate my phone touch screen well. They are warm, but not as warm as other gloves. Still, can't beat them for the price.
