BG144754105 you answered your own question it relies on forcing through the holes.. start with the largest hole then the next size down then the next until you get the size you want

simon Perhaps these have been upgraded as the ones I received today have one way bearings, running with the feed but locking in the other (kickback) direction. The feed direction arrows also seem correct to me. Both rollers are inclined so as to guide the stock towards the fence.
