Johnny This is most likely just as it appears. The two (+) are paralleled terminals for multi connections just as the two (-) terminals are. It does not matter at all which you choose to use as long as you keep the polarity correct. To test and prove this use an Ohm meter. You should not get more than about 1 Ohm or less between the two (+) or the two (-). To get the best most accurate reading you should clamp and tighten the meter leads in the terminal as you would a wire.

Johnny I don't have this unit but in most cases when terminals are duplicated adjacently, they are done so to allow for parallel connections. This is to not exceed the terminals capacity. So I would connect the batteries in series then to the corresponding board terminals. Again I do not have one of these units to examine so I am only speculating from years of electrical experience and not from knowledge of this product..
